Obviously over the next year or so i gradually warmed to those songs and ended up absolutely loving them! Now of course i appreciate the album WAS an all out aural assault after all! Except for Fight or Fall. I think back then as a kid i was hoping for a much heavier aural assault. I wasn't ready for songs like Romeo and the Lonely Girl, Running Back, Fight or Fall, and Angel From the Coast, at that time. At that time i always wished the title track had had a solo too, although it is one of my favourite songs of theirs and never miss a solo not being there anymore. I was disappointed it didn't have a great solo in it back then. I've never liked The Boys Are Back In Town, but understand why so many love the song, it's a really good song and a great radio song, just wasn't my cuppa tea. I was either 16 or 17, still finding my way musically and on a musical discovery. When i bought Jailbreak, at the time i was disappointed tbh. Queen ended up being THE band in my life, with Lizzy just slightly second.

I'm not much of a fan, but i'd never call them boring, they play a particular style that millions around the world have and do enjoy. I would imagine there aren't that many truly live albums, or are there? However i've read conflicting stories about just how 'live' it really was, i can never find a definitive answer concerning overdubs, etc. I've heard so many times how fantastic Live and Dangerous is, and i bought it when it came out. Click to expand. When did Slade jump on the metal bandwagon, first i've heard of that? They'd already had tracks like Take Me Ba'k 'Ome, Mama Weer All Crazee Now, and maybe a few others that could be considered hard rock/pop, did they get heavier at some stage? I've listened to albums of theirs from their later career and don't recall anything heavier, maybe i'll give them another listen.
